The weather may be cooling down, but things are heating up at Gulfarium this September with programs designed to educate, inspire, and connect families with marine life like never before.
Dive into Learning: Homeschool Week Returns!
Mark your calendars for Monday, September 8 – Friday, September 12, because Homeschool Week at the Gulfarium is back and better than ever! Families can enjoy exclusive discounted admission—just $14 for students ages 3–17 and $22 for one parent or chaperone per group. Plus, students receive 20% off animal encounters throughout the week.
Each morning kicks off with Daily Storytime in the Living Sea Aquarium at 10:20am, followed by a hands-on guided experience at 11:20 a.m. From helping feed turtles at Turtle Creek to getting up close with horseshoe crabs in the Tidepool, every day brings a new adventure in learning. Homeschool Week is the perfect mix of education and excitement that your budding marine biologist won’t want to miss!
PBS Kids Day at the Gulfarium!
Get ready for a family day full of fun and imagination! On Saturday, September 13th, the Gulfarium is thrilled to welcome Carl the Collector and Clifford the Big Red Dog for a special PBS Kids Day celebration.
Kids can dive into PBS KIDS–themed arts & crafts, explore the park through a scavenger hunt, and, of course, enjoy meet-and-greet time with their favorite characters. Combine that with all the excitement of marine life encounters, and you’ve got the perfect recipe for an unforgettable family outing!
CAREing for Turtles: A Behind-the-Scenes Experience
Don’t miss the last opportunities of the season to take part in the CAREing for Turtles program—an after-hours, behind-the-scenes look at our Gulfarium CARE Center. Guests are invited to tour the rehabilitation facility, meet current patients, and even practice a mock sea turtle intake to see firsthand how our team responds to rescue calls.
In partnership with Destin-Fort Walton Beach, the program highlights the importance of protecting nesting beaches and the tireless work being done to rescue and rehabilitate sea turtles right here on the Emerald Coast.
Since opening in 2015, the CARE Center has successfully released hundreds of turtles back into the Gulf. Your participation not only supports conservation but also helps spread awareness about the challenges these incredible animals face in the wild.
