Whether you need a break from all the holiday overkill or you’re just contemplating a new family tradition for Christmas, a cruise might be just what you need. One family said they had visions of waking up Christmas morning only to face a sea of tears and disappointed faces, but instead found their Christmas cruise experience to be their family’s favorite Christmas.
My husband and I have been on several cruises during the Christmas season and even taken some of our grandchildren on a holiday cruise. Christmas is a wonderful time to get together with friends and family, many of whom you might not have seen for a while. This often comes with added stress and lengthy travel. Imagine spending Christmas together where there is plenty of room for everyone, you don’t have to cook, and you never run out of food or drinks. Even the entertainment is all taken care of. No one ever says I’m board and if you want to slip off and take a nap you can. You can party until late and be in your bed just minutes later with no morning mess to clean up. Yep, that just about sums up a Christmas cruise.
Another perk of Christmas cruising is being able to experience Christmas traditions celebrated in the various ports we have visited—tasting their food, listening to Christmas carols sung in different languages and seeing their traditions come to life.
It’s well known that cruise ships are always decked out in their finest and that goes for Christmas décor as well. From baby Jesus lying in a manger to Santa’s workshop to winter wonderland or even winter with palm trees, a cruise ship’s Christmas décor rarely disappoints.
Rather than tell you, I thought I would just show you a few of my favorite holiday cruise memories. We will be in UT again this year for Christmas with our grandchildren and then starting the new year off on a Southern Caribbean Cruise! I will be sharing on my podcasts.
We at Have Travel Memories Vacations wish you all a very Merry Christmas!
Until next year.
Love, JoDell
