The Rotary Club of Destin is proud to recognize Gil Osterloh, president and CEO of Beverage Law Professionals, as the recipient of our 2026 Service Above Self Award.

A lifelong Okaloosa-Walton County local, Gil has built a successful consulting and lobbying firm serving the food service, alcohol and lodging industries throughout the Southeast. But what truly sets him apart is his unwavering commitment to helping others.

Many in our community know Gil through his Facebook page, where he serves as a trusted source of information, keeping residents informed about everything from new businesses and community happenings to emergencies, accidents and neighbors in need. His dedication to connecting and informing our community has made a meaningful difference in countless lives.

Gil’s service extends far beyond social media. Following Hurricane Michael, he and his wife, Alyssa, were among the first volunteers to enter Panama City after landfall, helping rescue residents and later establishing the nonprofit Panhandle Prayers to assist families recovering from disasters. During the COVID-19 shutdowns, Gil freely translated complex state orders affecting restaurants and bars into plain language, providing critical guidance to business owners across Florida at a time of great uncertainty.

Alongside their professional endeavors, Gil and Alyssa also donate their time and resources to help families facing terminal illness enjoy wish trips to Destin and create lasting memories together.

When informed he had been selected for the award, Gil’s response was classic Gil: “No way. There are far more people more deserving.”

That humility, combined with a lifetime of servant leadership and community involvement, is exactly why he was chosen.

Congratulations, Gil, and thank you for living Rotary’s motto of Service Above Self every day.
