As an exhibitor at the The Humane Society of the United States’ annual Animal Care Expo in New Orleans, Nancy Brown introduced the 2nd edition of Human & Dog Harmony and led two round table discussions on “DIY Canine Enrichment.”
Human and Dog Harmony is an illustrated children’s guide covering everything you need to know to be your dog’s best friend. The book offers expert advice on the dos and don’ts of dog care, with a focus on keeping your dog healthy with proper food, exercise, vet care, and fear-free training. It was very well received, and multiple rescues and shelters around the county plan to use this guide in their own community education programs.
At the round tables, Nancy shared the importance of canine enrichment, detailing specific enrichment activities and toys for shelter animals that can help to improve adoptability while in the kennel. If you work or volunteer at a shelter in our area of northwest Florida and missed the conference, let us know. We’re happy to come to you to speak on canine enrichment or share more about how to use Human and Dog-Harmony in your programs.
