Go Fishing. Destin isn’t named the World’s Luckiest Fishing Village for no reason. With one of the largest charter fishing fleets in the country, take your pick of near shore and deep-sea fishing opportunities for you and dad. Go Boating. With the Gulf of Mexico to the South and the Choctawhatchee Bay to the north, there is an abundance of waterways to explore. There are several boat rental companies in Destin that carry Pontoon to speed boats.
How About Dolphin Watching? A 90-minute Dolphin Cruise with Destin Snorkel begins with a cruise of the Destin Harbor and then out the Destin Pass to the Gulf of Mexico. Throw an Ax with your Dad: The latest trend, at the Gulf Coast Axe House in Miramar Beach you can throw an ax from 11 a.m.-midnight. No experience needed; coaches teach you how to throw. For those 21 and over, you can bring your own beer and wine if you want. Ages 13+ are permitted. Open daily, one hour of ax throwing is $30 per person. Take in a Father’s Day Film. For a relaxing wind-down from Father’s Day weekend, bring your lawn chairs out to Baytowne Wharf’s Events Plaza Lawn at Sandestin and settle in for a free film of “The Secret Life of Pets 2” at 8 p.m. Sunday.
Go Stand Up Paddling Boarding. Take dad on a calming, nature-based water experience. On a Stand Up Paddle Board, you all can paddle out in the Gulf to one of the new artificial reefs or paddle a peaceful coastal dune lake in the Bay. Dad might just slow down a little and enjoy this paddle boarding experience so conducive to our area, but especially if it’s with you!

Create an Old-Fashioned Memory with Ice Cream. Take you dad out for the ultimate ice cream sundae! Or start the day off with Parler doughnuts located at The Market Shops. There’s definitely one to fit your dad’s tastes with coffee as well!
And last, but definitely not least, spend time with your dad on the golf course, beach or in the water! Destin has some of the finest courses around. Have a picnic, go for a walk, splash in the waves, rent a jet ski or go parasailing…throw down a good time!
