Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Florida Connects Virtually
As an organization driven by one-to-one connections, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Florida (BBBSNWFL) remains virtual, keeping the health and wellness of the staff, volunteers, children and families at the highest priority. The staff of BBBSNWFL is working remotely and innovating new engaging ways to remain connected with the communities from Pensacola to Panama City. Each week on Tuesday, virtual recruitment and information sessions are hosted through Zoom. Each session is 30 minutes long and filled with information on becoming a Big Brother, donor or friend of the agency and are found on the Big Brothers Big Sister’s Facebook and Instagram page at 8:30 a.m, 12 p.m. or 5:30 p.m. If you’re interested in becoming a Big Brother or Big Sister, or just want to learn more about BBBSNWFL’s mission and vision, ‘Let’s Talk Tuesdays’ is a great resource. Record Number of Local Nonprofits Completing First Step in IMPACT 100 NWF Grant Process
A record number of nonprofits have completed the first step of the IMPACT 100 NWF grant process. The mission of IMPACT 100 of Northwest Florida, Inc., is to financially support nonprofit organizations in Okaloosa and Walton counties within five focus areas: Arts & Culture, Education, Environment, Recreation and Preservation, Family and Health & Wellness. Created in 2012, IMPACT 100 of Northwest Florida has awarded $2.7 million in grants to local nonprofit organizations, including five $101,600 grants in 2019. In late October, members will hear from the grant finalists and determine the 2020 grant recipients.
