A Sinfonia Holiday! Our region’s fully professional symphony orchestra led by Music and Artistic Director Demetrius Fuller presents a stellar lineup for the holidays!

Vocalist Chris Mann returns to the Sinfonia stage at Village Baptist Church on Fri., Dec. 14 at 7:30 p.m. in the annual Holiday Pops. Mann, whose crystalline voice garnered his place as a finalist on NBC’s “The Voice,” along with rave reviews in the lead role of the national touring production of “Phantom of the Opera,” and two PBS full-length concerts: “Chris Mann in Concert: A Mann for All Seasons” and “Home for Christmas,” will join forces with Sinfonia’s full orchestra for a most magical concert of the holiday season, perfect for the entire family. Tickets range from $29.50 to $55 per person.

Sinfonia’s Annual Gala Event will be held on Tues., Dec. 18 at The Henderson: A Beach & Spa Resort, and will feature singer/actress Jane Lynch. Lynch is an Emmy and Golden Globe-winner for her portrayal of Sue Sylvester on “Glee,” and is currently the two-time Emmy Award-winning host of NBC’s “Hollywood Game Night.” For “A Swingin’ Little Christmas,” Jane brings along Kate Flannery (NBC’s “The Office”), Tim Davis (“Glee”), and The Tony Guerrero Quintet for the jazziest musical holiday concert you’ll ever experience. The evening begins at 5:30 p.m. and includes VIP pre-concert reception, dinner and the performance. Tickets range from $275 – $500 per person. The local chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) is hosting Holiday Toast on the Coast Fri., Dec. 7, 6:30 -9 :00 p.m. Mix and mingle with tons of local friends at Luna Ballroom in Destin. Celebrate the holiday season with yummy bites, drinks and an awesome silent auction with gifts like vacation stays and spa packages! Who throws a party better than a bunch of PR people? The City of Destin’s 34th Annual Christmas Parade will be held Sat., Dec. 8, 2018, at 10 a.m. This year’s theme is “Christmas at the Beach.” Floats will begin at Downtown Destin Shopping Center (Old Time Pottery) and travel west down Harbor Blvd. (Hwy 98) to Stahlman Avenue. Spectators should stand on the north side of Harbor Blvd. to watch.
The Destin Harbor will be dancing with holiday lights and cheer during the 31st Annual Holiday on the Harbor, Destin Boat Parade, Dec. 9, 6-7 p.m. Visit with Santa Claus from 12-4 p.m. at HarborWalk Village’s Main Stage. Ballet Conservatory and Destin School of Music & Dance presents The Nutcracker at 4 p.m. Then the Boat Parade will light up the harbor beginning at 6 p.m. with fireworks following the parade and firespinning on HarborWalk Village’s main stage.

Destin Chamber’s Holiday Party & Awards Gala sponsored by Fort Walton Beach Medical Center & Twin Cities Hospital will be held Dec.13, 6 – 9:30 p.m. at Embassy Suites Destin – Miramar Beach and will feature live entertainment by The Moos Brothers. Northwest Florida Ballet’s A Very Electric Christmas will be held Dec. 21 and 22 at 7:30 p.m. and Dec. 22 at 2:30 p.m. at Destin United Methodist Church’s Life Center. Lightwire Theater, a former finalist on the hit show America’s Got Talent, will thrill audiences of all ages with this magical and captivating tale of family, friendship and hope set to timeless holiday hits including Nat King Cole, Mariah Carey and Tchaikovsky. Sinfonia Gulf Coast Youth Orchestra hosts their fall concert Dec. 9, 3 – 5 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Destin. The premier training orchestra in Northwest Florida, it consists of more than 50 students who participate in a variety of ensembles that perform throughout the school year. The Destin Library will host a Harry Potter Yule Ball Celebration on Dec. 13, 2018, 6 – 8 p.m. Witches and wizards of all ages are invited to dress in their House colors and the Sorting Hat will be on hand to give you a House to call home. This family-friendly event will feature a variety of games and activities inspired by the series, including trivia, a library-wide scavenger hunt, and magical holiday crafts.
