Topsail Hosts #20for20in2018

Throughout 2018, Topsail Hill Preserve State Park is celebrating its 20th anniversary of being a Florida State Park.  As part of the celebration the park is giving away 20 birthday presents.  On the 20th of each month, the park will be hiding a present or two somewhere in Walton County, Florida.  To find the present, you will need to check out the Friends of Topsail Hill Preserve State Park on Facebook on the 20th for clues.  The Facebook page is www.facebook.com/FriendsofTopsailHillPreserveStatePark . You’ll know you’re on their page because you’ll see their cool logo!  The first person to arrive and find the present gets to take it home.

Topsail Presents Tai Chi Tuesday April 17th

Join Topsail Hill Preserve State Park on the third Tuesday of each month for Tai Chi Tuesday. Seated Tai Chi is 8:30a.m. – 9:15a.m. and Standing Tai Chi is 9:30a.m. – 10:15a.m. Tai Chi is a group recreational exercise program that helps you relax and de-stress while focusing on grace, balance and breathing through slow, calm and deliberate movements. Weather permitting the group will be outside. Otherwise it will be inside the clubhouse. Group size is limited to 25 participants. Class fee is $13 and does not include park admission. Park admission is paid at the ranger station upon coming in to the park for Tai Chi. Pre- registration is available until the night prior to the class either online or at the Park Store. Day of registration is available at the Park Store before class starts only if there is space available. You can call the park store at 850-267-8333 for more information.

Annual Earth Day Festival April 28th

Join Topsail Hill Preserve State Park for their annual Earth Day Festival on April 28, 2018 from 10:00a.m. – 2:00p.m. Celebrate the Earth and Earth Day with the park and environmental organizations and agencies. There will be nature activities, games, animals, face painting and booths as well as music and… a lot of fun. An exciting part of the event is the participation in the #Trees4Earth campaign. With the 50th anniversary of Earth Day fast approaching in 2020, Trees for the Earth campaign was launched in 2016, with a goal to plant 7.8 billion trees worldwide by 2020—one for every person projected to be on Earth. The park and event attendees will be planting trees on park property as part of this campaign.There will be tram rides to the beach and bikes, canoes, kayaks and paddleboards will also be available for rent. Park admission is free during the event.
