Yum! Yum! It’s Almost Time for The Sandestin Gumbo Festival—the best gumbo cook-off on the Gulf Coast!

Known as one of the largest and most popular winter food events along Florida’s Emerald Coast, this winter festival favorite is back for the 31st year! Kick off the weekend, Fri., Feb. 14 with a delicious seafood boil. Then on Saturday, Feb. 15, sample a variety of gumbos and vote for your favorite as the “People’s Choice” winner! Dark or light roux? Chicken, sausage or seafood? Celebrity judges will name the “Area’s Best.” Gulf Coast restaurants will be featured along with children’s activities. Enjoy live music from Dikki Du and the Zydeco Krewe while you taste. And, the popular Bloody Mary component is BACK again this year featuring the Best Bloody Mary’s at The Beach! Taste some of the finest bars’ and restaurants’ Bloody Mary’s on the coast AND you get to be the judge, too! Vote for your favorite and help contestants win the title of “Best Bloody Mary at The Beach!” This year’s event is promising to serve up fun for everyone. The Fat Tuesday Baytowne Bash Parade and the Mardi Gras Dog Parade Combine for One Festive Event!

Baytowne Mardi Gras Parade!

Mardi Gras is BIGGER and BETTER than ever at The Village of Baytowne Wharf! This year, the Fat Tuesday Baytowne Bash Parade and the Mardi Gras Dog Parade are joining forces for one festive event! “Laissez les bon temps rouler” (let the good times roll) with unique, colorful floats, golf carts, and trucks as well as costumed dogs and owners filling the streets with Mardi Gras cheer. Marchers will be dressed up in all their Mardi Gras best and shower parade-goers with a barrage of beads, moon pies, and other trinkets. Baytowne is looking for Krewes to join in the Mardi Gras festivities. Costumed dogs and their humans along with unique and colorful floats, golf carts, and pick-up trucks will fill Baytowne’s streets. Mardi Gras music will fill the air as the area’s four-pawed friends and parade participants shower parade-goers with a barrage of beads, moon pies, and other trinkets.

Prepare to let your hair down on what many call the most festive day of the year, Fat Tuesday, the day before Ash Wednesday. “Laissez les bon temps rouler” (let the good times roll) with the Baytowne Mardi Street Pardi! Starting at 6 p.m. join the Village Street party complete with music, street performers, entertainers and more! The post-parade celebration continues into the night with parties at various Baytowne establishments. So, break out the beads and get ready for a night to remember!
