After serving 22 years in the U.S. Army, including two combat deployments to Iraq with the 3rd Infantry Division and 10th Mountain Division, retired Major Bruce Duty witnessed firsthand the challenges many veterans face when transitioning to civilian life. His distinguished military career earned numerous honors, including the Bronze Star Medal and Meritorious Service Medal.
Inspired by those experiences, Duty founded CrossCountry3, a nonprofit dedicated to helping veterans rediscover purpose, resilience and hope through mentorship, training, retreats and opportunities to serve others. The organization also supports efforts to combat human trafficking and assist vulnerable communities.

Learn more about the mission during America 250: Compassion in Action, a fundraiser benefiting CrossCountry3, set for June 25 from 5–8 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn in Miramar Beach. The event will celebrate service, patriotism and the power of making a difference in the lives of others.
