Sunshine Shuttle and Limousine service of Santa Rosa Beach has released a new on-demand app for download on Apple & Android based mobile devices. This next step in the company’s development is designed to meet the needs and growing demands of residents and tourists who desire an on-demand app style service; similar to Uber, but known locally.
At first glance, the app appears very similar to the established products on the market but there are some differences.
- First, there is never surge pricing. Drivers are always available and the fees are well within the competitive range.
- All the vehicles providing rides through the app are certified, maintained through daily mechanical inspection, are pristine cosmetically, and SMOKE FREE.
- All drivers are uniformed, drug screened, and have passed extensive background checks, including State of Florida, DOT, FAA & Homeland Security.
- Each ride through the app is covered by a $6 million insurance policy instead of the traditional $1 million provided by other companies.
- Every On-Demand ride is supported and tracked by live dispatch personnel, available for your support, 24/7
“We believe this new app will change the way transportation is provided on the Emerald Coast, helping to solve the growing traffic problems we face in-season and out,” says Sunshine Shuttle owner John Finch. Marketing director James Hutto believes that, “While Uber and Lyft have truly revolutionized the way people use point-to-point transportation, their lack of regulation, standards, and oversight continue to present a weakness in their service…”
Hutto also mentioned that in preparation for the upcoming summer season, Sunshine plans to add their Trolley Tracking system to the same app through an update, enhancing their service along the 30A corridor.
It will be interesting to see what effect the app will have here in South Walton this summer as the area absorbs more and more visitors.
