Don’t have a date for Valentine’s Day? Not ready for a commitment, but need some lovin?
Go on a date to Props Craft Brewery & Taproom – and maybe even back to your place for a slumber party – with canine bachelors and bachelorettes from the Panhandle Animal Welfare Society (PAWS).
“Do-Over Valentine’s Doggy Date” will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 15 at the brewery, 125 Lovejoy Road NW, Fort Walton Beach.
There also will be a Valentine’s Day-themed chance drawing, plus $1 off the first brew if you bring a dog.
Here’s how doggy dates and sleepovers work: If you’re an Okaloosa County resident, you can pick up a dog from PAWS, 752 Lovejoy Road NW, after 10 a.m. and show them a good time at Props just down the street and other dog-friendly places until 4 p.m. For a sleepover, you just return them by 4 p.m. the next day. Bring your driver’s license and proof of insurance.
The program gives the dog a break from the shelter environment – kind of like weekends away from your job – and gives the shelter staff more information about their personalities, so they can find a perfect home.
