Catherine CardWe invite everyone to attend our City of Destin’s Annual Open House on Thursday, October 24th, 2019, from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Destin Community Center. This year’s theme is “Looking Back…Moving Forward.” You will be able to meet with our elected officials, city staff and community partners and get a better understanding of how the city works for our residents and visitors. I, Gary Jarvis, as the Mayor, will address everyone and reflect upon who Destin is, our brand, tying in our past and present and re-emphasizing who we are as a community. City Manager Lance Johnson says, “This is a wonderful opportunity to engage the community we serve and showcase the work we do behind the scenes, along with our city partners.” Lunch will be provided by Chef Jim Shirah of Dewey Destin’s.

During the event, residents and businesses can bring their old documents to the community center to be shredded free of charge. In order to allow for maximum public participation, only reasonable amounts of material will be accepted from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Excess materials will only be accepted if time allows.
