st, Get an energy analysis by an expert to better understand your specific needs.
nd, Bring insulation up to code. 15 years ago, Florida insulation code (which is minimum requirements) was R-19 of attic insulation. R-19 is approximately 7-8” of blown in or batt insulation. Today, code is R-30 (approximately 11-12” of blown in or batt insulation). The minimum requirement for efficiency has nearly doubled. Why, because R-19 just wasn’t enough.
rd, Stop radiant heat gain and loss. Most of us either have our ductwork or HVAC system or both in our attic which reach temperatures of 140+ degrees in the summer and most often located above our insulation. If you have ever stored holiday decorations in the attic to find a melted blob, you experienced first hand the harsh conditions in your attic. Our multi-layer reflective insulation reflects 97% of radiant heat reducing the overall attic temperature, significantly increasing the life of your HVAC equipment and the efficiency of your ductwork reducing heat gain and lowering your monthly power bill.
th, Energy usage notification. Today, my children bring home progress reports from school notifying us of how proficient they are in specific subjects. We use this tool to pinpoint what areas to focus on so they can make better grades. Having a progress report for your energy usage is just as important so you can focus on areas to be more energy proficient. Having the NEST thermostat does exactly that and programs itself within a week after learning your heating and cooling habits.
With the 4 step perfect attic insulation system, you will enjoy not just big savings on your energy bills but also improve comfort and healthier indoor conditions in your home.
