Bowling to Help Destin’s State Park
In partnership with Henderson Beach State Park, the Destin Chamber of Commerce Destin Forward Class of 2020 would like to invite you to a morning full of bowling, pancakes, fundraising, networking … and FUN!
The fundraising effort will take place on Friday, February 21 at Uncle Buck’s Fish Bowl & Grill located in Destin Commons. “Pins and Pancakes” will provide lane sponsorships to groups, organizations or businesses that are interested in renting a lane for up to six people from 8-10 a.m. A lane sponsorship will include a breakfast buffet for six and unlimited bowling and shoe rental for two hours. There is limited space available, so please reserve early as lanes will run out quickly.
In addition, there will also be a silent auction and pancake breakfast at the event. So, please bring cash and/or credit cards. Teams must sponsor a lane for $300 to bowl! If you would like breakfast only, the cost is $25.
Though each year’s team of Destin Forward business professionals are challenged with building relationships in the community; becoming more knowledgeable about the people, area, civic and community organizations, first responders and history; learning, hands-on, how to better advance the business and growth of our community, and becoming more knowledgeable about the issues, they’re also responsible for a community service project—one that will leave a positive footprint for others. Class members present recommendations and then vote.
The Pins & Pancakes fundraiser event will aid in the class’s goal to fundraise a total of $7,500 to assist the revitalization of the playground located at Henderson Beach State Park, this year’s chosen project. Funds will be used directly for the playground’s desperately-needed revitalization and accessibility improvement including new mulch, paint and upgrading equipment with new materials.
