Tamtech Pools and Spa has been an established business on The Emerald Coast since Jim Dular started the company in 1980. Tamtech designs, installs and services residential and commercial pools and spas all along Highway 98 from Panama City to Mary Ester, and Freeport and Niceville to the north.
Jim Dular passed away in June 2016 and handed the business down to long-term employees Nick Atkins and Kelly Dangel. They have continued to run and develop the company into the top pool construction and renovation company on The Emerald Coast.
Tamtech Pools and Spa also operates to provide the best service to its customers. They oversee all aspects of the construction of their pools. When subcontractors are used in construction, quality can vary within the different stages from one company to another. With Tamtech “the quality control is really tight,” stated Atkins. “We don’t use any subcontractors. All of our employees work directly for us.” It is a small company with about 25 employees. “We have a lot of long term employees,” said Atkins, who considers his employees to be like a family. “We have about 10 employees that have been here over 15 years.”
The customer experience is also important to Atkins and his team. If you are thinking about installing a new pool, Atkins said they could design a pool or help you bring your ideas to life. “We don’t use any outside sales people,” stated Atkins. Aktins and Dangel, who have about 17 years of experience between them, come out to perform the estimates themselves. “When we go out, you know you’re getting somebody that knows what they’re talking about. We’re not just a sales person trying to get a commission. We take pride in looking at the job ourselves.”
Pools can be a great addition to a home or business, but sometimes they require new equipment, like a pump, or repair to the plaster, to keep them in top working condition. Tamtech is there for you. “We’re full service,” said Atkins. “We do everything from new installations, remodeling and service calls.” They can provide service for standard chlorinated pools and saltwater pools in addition to servicing heaters, pumps, and filters.
