Rev your engines for Burning Up The Beaches, a fun-filled weekend with gearheads coming in from all over the U.S. Locals and visitors will enjoy three days of events and showing off their cars on our own sugar-white beaches of Destin and Fort Walton Beach.
Burning Up The Beaches kicks off Thursday, May 6, at 3 p.m. at The Island by Hotel RL in Fort Walton Beach. Once checked in, the party will begin across the street with a Happy Hour at Rick’s on the Island. New to Burning Up The Beaches this year, the group will drive in the Main Street Parade in downtown Fort Walton Beach to show off their vintage cars on Friday, May 7. The celebration will continue with various events hosted at The Island by Hotel RL including a DJ at the pool, a beach bonfire, and live music.
Saturday, May 8, is the big show day! The Burning Up The Beaches car show will begin at 9:00 a.m. at Destin Commons. Participants will enjoy a day of cars, music and more around Destin Commons.
The Main Street Parade and the Burning Up The Beaches car show are open to the public to attend. To participate in these events, as well as the other activities during the Burning up the Beaches weekend, registration is required.

Horizons was founded in 1992 and is an affiliate of The Arc of the U.S., the world’s largest grassroots advocacy organization for citizens of all ages with cognitive, intellectual, and developmental disabilities, and their families. June 2015 Horizons of Okaloosa County changed its name to The Arc of the Emerald Coast. The Arc of the Emerald Coast provides services in Okaloosa, Santa Rosa and Walton Counties that work to include all children and adults with cognitive, intellectual and developmental disabilities in every community.
