Food for Thought Launches Summer Program
Food For Thought outreach is a not-for-profit organization based in Santa Rosa Beach, FL, that provides backpacks filled with healthy, easy to prepare food for students dependent on free or reduced school meals. Their goal is to support a child’s development and educational experience by bridging the gap between school meals during weekends and holiday breaks. Food For Thought has been working to fight child hunger since 2010, and currently serves 31 schools in Walton and Okaloosa Counties, providing backpacks for 2,900 students each week. Beginning the first week of June, 2018, Food For Thought will be rolling out their 7th annual Summer Program, providing hungry children and families with easy-to-prepare foods. Helping families in need is a year round responsibility and with community support, Food For Thought can make sure no one goes hungry this summer and provide needed meals for over 350 families.
