March 10, National Learn about Butterflies Day

Join Topsail Hill Preserve State Park as it celebrates National Learn About Butterflies and Craft Day on March 10, 2018 from 10:30am to 12:30p.m. Come learn about butterflies and their fellow pollinators and the roles they play in the ecosystem through interactive displays and activities.

March 15, 3:00pm, Ranger’s Choice Program

The Park Rangers invite visitors of all ages to come out to learn about a topic of the Ranger’s choice for the week, pertaining to the Park, wildlife, history, or anything under the sun. Ranger’s Choice Programs take place every Thursday at 3pm. Meet in the Clubhouse! March 30, Moonlight Paddle

Join Topsail Hill Preserve State Park for a Moonlight Paddle on March 30, 2018 from 5:00p.m. – 8:00p.m. Experience Campbell Lake on a Ranger guided paddling tour.  Participants must be experienced canoers/kayakers over 12 yrs. of age. Program is $40 per person.  Space is limited.  Advanced online registration is required and can be done at www.topsailparkfriends.org. Program fee includes watercraft rental, PFD, paddle, park admission fee, glow sticks, tram ride to Campbell Lake and a donation to the Friends of Topsail Hill Preserve State Park.  Program is weather dependent.  In order to prevent the introduction of invasive species in to Campbell Lake, which is a rare Coastal Dune Lake, watercraft and gear from outside the park is not allowed.

March 30, TOPSAIL HILL PRESERVE STATE PARK PRESENTS “INSECTS”

A PART OF TOPSAIL TALKS: AN EDUCATIONAL DISCOVERY SERIES

The South Walton Mosquito Control District (SWMCD) presents “Insects”, on March 30 from 10:00a.m.- 11:00a.m. Come learn about the insects and bugs that call the Florida Panhandle home. This program is free with regular park admission. Topsail Talks is a monthly educational discovery series with presentations from organizations and government agencies from outside the park.  Future dates and topics are “Coastal Species” by FWCC on April 20, “Shorebirds” by the Audubon Society on May 4, “Bears” by FWCC on June 15 and “Prescribed Fires and the Forest” by Florida Forest Service on July 20. To stay up to date about this program and all the events and programs at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park make sure to sign up for the email newsletters the park sends out.
