Lady Ray’s Culinary Delights, located just to the west of Target in Destin at 833 Harbor Boulevard, celebrates its first year in business with the opening of its new pastry bar concept and the launch of a new culinary brand, “Brother Tim’s Sweet Heat Collection.”

The pastry bar offers a combination of contemporary flights of fancy and time-honored classics. Favorites include Lady Ray’s signature Chocolate Buttercream Croissant, Mocha Latte Bombes, Key Lime bites, fresh baked Dunker Cookies and, of course, plenty of coffee and bubbly. Its rich and playful use of color is as bright and alluring as the confectionery and sweets on display.

Tim and Rachel Vondell, both from upstate New York, continue to stay true to their roots. The immersive and intimate environment created by the soft lighting, uptempo music and new high-top seating provides guests with comfort and relaxation.

The pastry bar is open for coffee, pastries and libations Thursday-Saturday 2-8 p.m. and offers brunch on Sunday, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., featuring a different flavor of french toast each week.

The Brother Tim’s Sweet Heat collection leads off with Lady Ray’s staple Sweet Heat pepper jelly, a condiment you’ll find on many of the cafe’s sandwiches and charcuterie boards. As the team at Lady Ray’s Culinary Delights isn’t necessarily looking to reinvent the wheel, partnering with like-minded businesses is vital to their success allowing them to also offer local favorites such as candied jalapenos from JC’s Gourmet and a Hot Honey from NoWall Honey Farm in Defuniak Springs.
