The Okaloosa Arts Alliance (OAA) invites all Okaloosa County school students to participate in the 14th Annual OAA Okaloosa County School Poster Contest. The theme is “What art means to me.” It can be anything you can create on paper with markers, pencils, paint, pastels, charcoal, mixed media or crayons.
There will be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners for elementary school students (K-4), middle school students (5-8), and high school students (9-12). Each winner in each division will win a cash prize. Additionally, the 1st place winners’ artwork will be posted in the OAA newsletter and on the OAA website.
Any Okaloosa County student grades kindergarten through 12 grade can enter; entries can be submitted by an Okaloosa County school or by an individual student. Deadline is April 21. Submit only one entry per student. Posters need to include the name of the artist, grade and the name of the school on the front of each entry or attached directly below the poster. Mail entries to Okaloosa Arts Alliance-Poster Contest, P.O. Box 4426, FWB, FL 32549. To drop off entry(s) take them to HH Arts at 100 Beal Pkwy SW, Fort Walton Beach (near Hwy 98). Hours are 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. They are closed on Sunday and Monday.
All poster contest entries will be on display from Saturday evening, April 22, at Enlightened Studios, 142 Miracle Strip Parkway SE, Fort Walton Beach, until the evening of May 6. Winners will be announced, and prizes awarded at the intermission of Okaloosa’s Got Talent, approximately 7:30 p.m. May 6 at Enlightened Studios.
