Paddle at the Park Features Standup Paddle Board Races for All Age & Skill Levels
The 10th Annual Paddle at the Park Sponsored by HCA Florida Destin Emergency, a standup paddle board race event, will take place Saturday, Aug. 20, at 9 a.m., in the beautiful emerald-green Gulf waters at Henderson Beach State Park in Destin. It offers races for all age and skill levels, with its Kids’ Fun Paddle, 1-Mile Beginner Ride, 3-Mile Recreational Race, and 6-Mile Elite Race. The weekend fun begins on Friday, Aug. 19, with a Racer Welcome Party at BOTE. It continues on Saturday morning with the races, which have staggered start times. Racers and spectators alike will enjoy the festive atmosphere with displays and booths set up along the beach. The event will conclude with awards.

Wiggin’ Out for A Cause
Are you ready to help benefit children in abusive situations, and have a fun evening at the same time? The Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center (ECCAC) presents its 6th Annual Wiggin’ Out For A Cause event presented by Great American RV Superstores on Thursday, Sept. 22, 6-10 p.m. in the Shoreline Church event area, 140 Palmetto St., Destin. This year, ECCAC is encouraging men to attend, too. With a “Prom Night of Your Dreams” theme, ladies and gentlemen can come dressed accordingly in their best (or worst) prom attire. The event will be filled with wine and punch cocktails, food, fun, photo booths and live DJ music with dancing. Both the ladies and the gents will receive their own personal wigs. Guests are encouraged to pre-purchase tickets at $90 per person. Limited VIP tickets at $150 per person include a designer wig and attendance at a private VIP pre-party from 5-6 p.m. Proceeds benefit ECCAC. Sacred Heart Charity Golf Classic
The Annual Sacred Heart Charity Golf Classic is on the horizon, slated for Friday, Sept. 23, at Burnt Pine Golf Club. Proceeds will support the acquisition of a state-of-the-art CT Scanner for pediatric and adult patients at Ascension Sacred Heart Emerald Coast. This technology represents a dramatic leap forward in CT technology, and amplifies our commitment to excellence.
