Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast Senior Spirit program will host its October Healthy Living Seminar titled “Cancer Treatment and Prevention” on Wednesday, Oct. 11 at 10 a.m.

Dr. Amy Nance, a board-certified oncologist with Sacred Heart Cancer Center, will present on a variety of topics including new technologies in cancer treatment, imaging recommendations, medications and support. She will also discuss cancer prevention through healthy lifestyle changes, diet and exercise.

Sacred Heart Hospital’s comprehensive community cancer program, approved by the American College of Surgeons, is designed to provide our patients with the highest standard of cancer care and the most advanced technologies available to fight cancer. New surgical techniques, radiation technologies, chemotherapies and advanced diagnostic capabilities are available to our cancer patients.

To enhance the level of cancer care in Northwest Florida, Sacred Heart Hospital formed an affiliation with MD Anderson Cancer Network®. MD Anderson Cancer Network is a program of The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, a research driven institute that is ranked by U.S. News and World Report as the nation’s top cancer treatment center. Because of the excellent care that Sacred Heart and its physicians already provide, MD Anderson Cancer Network selected Sacred Heart as a partner in the fight against cancer.

The free community-education seminar will be held in Sacred Heart Hospital’s Resource Center, Suite 3 Conference Room. Call (877) 416-1620 to register.
