Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, the #1 resort on Florida’s Emerald Coast, and The Village of Baytowne Wharf announced plans today for the 10th Annual Baytowne Beer Festival on Oct. 13-14. With the growing interest in craft brewing, the Baytowne Wharf Beer Festival promises to be more popular than ever.
Known as the “Best Beer Fest on the Emerald Coast,” the festival will have opportunities to discover and sample specialty beers from around the country. The charming Village of Baytowne Wharf at Sandestin is the perfect backdrop for fun-in-the-sun during the traditionally beautiful month of October.
Friday, October 13
Beer From Around Here will take place in the Village Events Plaza from 6-8 p.m. Sample local breweries like Destin Brewery, Props Brewery, Fairhope Brewing Company, Idyll Hounds and Grayton Beer, taste appetizers from merchants in the Village, and enjoy live music by the Forrest Williams Band.
Saturday, October 14
The Saturday VIP event will feature exclusive beer tastings, Timber Creek Distillery bourbon, and delicious featured menu items from Marlin Grill from 1-2 p.m. This ticket is all inclusive for Saturday’s events and guests receive express entry into the grand tasting.
During Saturday’s Grand Tasting from 2-6 p.m., the Village will transform into a taster’s paradise with tents and nearly 200 domestic and international beers from more than 40 on-site craft brewers. New craft beers and different selections from past years will be featured. Plus, enjoy live music by The Modern Eldorados and The Moon Lagoons. A sample of the brewing companies featured at this year’s festival includes: Idyll Hounds, Grayton Beer Company, Destin Brewery, Props, 3rd Planet Brewery, New Belgium, Back Forty, 3 Daughters, Pensacola Bay Brewery, Shipyard Brewing Company, SweetWater, Abita, Sierra Nevada, Fairhope Brewing Company and many more. Brewery representatives will be available to discuss the different types of lagers and ales, teaching about the variety of styles.
Saturday’s Craft Beer Tasting tickets are on sale for a reduced price of $30 per person until Oct. 14, VIP tickets are on sale for $60 and Beer From Around Here tickets are on sale for $40. Tickets can be purchased the day of the event for $35 and special pricing for groups is also available. Tickets are also available for purchase at the Sandestin Welcome Center’s front desk. Guests are advised to purchase tickets early, for the event has sold out in past years. All ticket holders will be provided a Baytowne Wharf Beer Festival tasting glass for sampling.
But that’s not all that’s happening in October. Baytowne Wharf continues the Wednesday Night Concert Series. Enjoy the crisp, fall air with a free concert on the lawn this October. Concerts start at 7pm. Featured acts include: October 4, Chris Alvarado; October 11, Graytones; October 18, Continuum; and October 25, Heritage.
The Village of Baytowne Wharf will host its final Bubbly Baytowne event on Tuesday, October 17th. Visitors can sip and shop through the Village streets with free champagne and shopping, for guests 21 and older.
Calling all ghouls, ghosts, and goblins to the Village of Baytowne Wharf for a spooktacular extravaganza! Baytowne will host Butler Elementary school’s choir for “Butler Does Halloween” on Tuesday, Oct 24th. Then, enjoy a free showing of Hocus Pocus as part of the Throwback Thursday cinema nights on October 26th. And finally, on Tuesday, Oct 31, children are invited to trick or treat through the Village streets for Halloween. A live DJ will play frighteningly good tunes on the main stage, and guests can enjoy face painting, balloon animals and more! End the night with a spooky fireworks display at 8pm.
And finally it’s time to dust off those skates and get in the winter spirit at The Village of Baytowne Wharf’s Baytowne on Ice. For those visitors who miss the cold and ice, the seasonal ice rink is the perfect opportunity to share some of your favorites holiday traditions. Baytowne on Ice opens Saturday, Oct 28th.
