Heartwarming Soups & Stews with the Destin Library
Come join the latest, mouthwatering new Beanstack Challenge from the Destin Library: Heartwarming Soups and Stews. From now-Feb. 28, warm your heart and tummy with interactive cooking activities, videos, recipes and cookbooks each week. Have fun creating your own soup or stew and then share your recipe with other challengers. Participating in the activities earns badges that will automatically enter you into the surprise drawing at the end of the challenge. 2021 City of Destin Annual Passes
Full-time Destin residents (within the incorporated city limits) are encouraged to submit their request for a 2021 Annual Pass via the city website at https://www.cityofdestin.com/342/Annual-Passes. For those who do not have internet access, beach parking passes are available at City Hall only. Henderson Beach State Park and Joes Bayou Boat Ramp passes are available at both City Hall and the Destin Community Center.

Big Brothers Big Sisters to Host Virtual Gala
Mark your calendars for Fri., Jan. 15, 2021 for The Big Gala 2021. ‘Bigger Together,’ The Big Gala is normally the charity’s biggest black-tie event of the year, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Northwest Florida will be hosting their first-ever Virtual Big Gala. Lane Redding Joins Progress Bank as Senior Lender
Lane Redding has joined Progress Bank Okaloosa & Walton County as Senior Lender, Business Banking. Lane has 10 years of banking experience from major institutions, where her roles primarily involved the areas of credit analysis and commercial banking. Active in the local community, Lane serves on the boards for the Walton Area Chamber of Commerce and the Destin Charity Wine Auction and is a member of the Destin Rotary Club.

Hog Ride for Children in Crisis
The 41st Annual Emerald Coast Harley Owners Group Chapter #3605 Toy Ride in December closed out by raising critical funding to help the abused children served by the Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center and the at-risk abused and neglected children living at the Children in Crisis Neighborhood. 100 bikers met at Emerald Coast Harley Davidson in Ft. Walton Beach Sunday morning and paraded on a completely new route for 2020. According to Ken Hair, CIC President and CEO, “This wonderful event has help us make Christmas a special time for the at-risk children living at the CIC Neighborhood.”

The Arc Receives $20K Christmas Gift
In December, the Emerald Coast Foundation (ECF) presented The Arc of the Emerald Coast with a check for $20,000! The donation from ECF will help The Arc continue its mission of empowering those with developmental disabilities to live meaningful lives here in our local community.

Dementia Wellness Expo
Registration is now open for the 2nd annual Dementia Wellness Expo to be held virtually, Thurs., January 21. The event offers free CEUs for nurses, CNAs, Social Workers, OTs, PTs, SLPs.
