Week long camps offer opportunities for young children and teens to explore the art of dance spanning from ballet and jazz to musicals and even fairy princesses.
Enrollment is now open for 30A Dancewave’s 2017 Summer Camps for students aged 4 through teen. The week-long half-day camps feature morning training sessions with professional dance instruction that culminate in staged performances and the end of the week. The camps run 9:00 a.m.-12 p.m., Monday-Friday at The Seaside Neighborhood School, 10 Smolian Circle, Seaside. Campers can select from a choice of three different camp themes to choose from based on their age and specific dance interests. Led by Andrea Alfieri, professional dancer and director over the Seaside School’s award winning dance team, the campers will receive introduction and instruction in ballet, jazz, tap, creative movement and musical theater. Final performances are produced with costumes, props and sets made by the campers. With limited space available for each camp, those interested in can reserve a spot for their children for certain days or the whole week by registering online at 30adancewave.com. As one of the few children’s camp options offered in Seaside during the summer, local residents and vacation visitors alike are invited to sign up.

Camp #1: South Walton Dance Project
Session One: June 5th – 9th
Session Two: July 24th – 28th
Monday – Friday
9am – 12pm
Ages: 9 – Teen
$150/week or $35/day
Description: Focused on the foundations of dance, beginner and intermediate level dancers will begin each day with either a ballet class, jazz class, tap class or modern contemporary class. One choreographed dance number from each dance form will be presented at a performance at the end of the week.
Camp #2: The Sensational Seussical the Musical Summer Smash!
June 19th – 23rd
Monday – Friday
9am – 12pm
Ages: 5 – 10
$150/week or $45/day
Description: Based on the stories and characters of Dr. Seuss, boys and girls will enjoy portraying characters and performing “Oh the Thinks You Can Think”, “Horton Hears a Who”, “Green Eggs and Ham” and more! Campers create their own props and costume accents and perform a short studio performance at the end of the week.
Camp #3: Fairy Princess Fantasy Camp
July 10th – 14th
Monday – Friday
9am – 11am
Ages: 4 – 7
$140/week or $35/day
Description: Little dancers will choose their favorite fairy princess, create their own personal wings, magic wands and princess tiaras to dance to their favorite prince and princess songs. Tap shoes, pink ballet slippers and tutus are encouraged! Campers are provided with a light snack and water.
